Who We Are
The Persia House of Michigan is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-religious and non-political organization. We were established in 1999. Currently our organization consists of 20 active committees under the supervision of the Board of Directors elected by members. We publish an informative bulletin periodically which will contain the progress of our activities!
What We Do
Our most important goal is to promote Iranian traditions and culture among Iranians abroad with emphasis on Iranian Youth. The Persia House of Michigan celebrates different traditional and cultural events annually. Our Mission To establish an organization that provides a medium for the Persian community to gather under common goals, specifically celebration and appreciation of Persian culture, language and history. An organization which entertains an atmosphere of peace and harmony, free and independent of any political or religious ties. Movements or encouragement of discord, dissension, variance and segregation will not be tolerated and is against the organization's ideology. |

نخستین منشور حقوق بشر
استوانه
کوروش بزرگ، یک استوانهٔ سفالین پخته شده که بر روی آن به خط میخی (پارسی
قدیم) نوشته شده، به تاریخ ۱۸۷۸ میلادی در پی کاوش در محوطهٔ باستانی بابِل
کشف شد. در آن کوروش بزرگ رفتار خود با اهالی بابِل را پس از پیروزی بر
ایشان توسط ایرانیان شرح داده‌است.
این سند به عنوان "نخستین منشور حقوق بشر" شناخته شده، و به سال ۱۹۷۱
میلادی، سازمان ملل آنرا به تمامی زبانهای رسمی سازمان منتشر کرد. "با امید
انکه اهورا مزدا این سرزمین را حفظ کند، و ملت آنرا از بدخواهی، از دشمن،
از دروغ، و از خشک سالی در امان بدارد."

Cyrus Charter of Human Rights Cylinder
The
charter of Cyrus the Great, a baked-clay Aryan language (Old Persian)
cuneiform cylinder, was discovered in 1878 in excavation of the site of
Babylon. In it, Cyrus the Great described his human treatment of the
inhabitants of Babylonia after its conquest by the Iranians.
The
document has been hailed as the first charter of human rights, and in
1971 the United Nations was published translation of it in all the
official U.N. languages. "May Ahura Mazda protect this land, this
nation, from rancor, from foes, from falsehood, and from drought".
